Dear Weather team, I have been amazed to see that Zürich weather predictions for the last three weeks averaged between 10C and 16C. That is something! I have personally experienced between -5C and +5C during that time. Somehow your information about Zürich is way off target. Thanks for the great news broadcasts. Ther other major networks are repetitavely boaring and long winded. Ron

    Dear euronews team,

Thank you very much for devotion and effort you put in your work. You are a revolution in the branch of journalism. In the past one could either listen the news on the radio, seen them on television or read about them in the newspapers and now thanks to euronews one can combine all these dimensions at the same time. Even more important fact about euronews is that you are not led by any government or political party so you portray the events as objective as possible, what is not always the case in every country. Due to the fact that you do not charge any thing for the usage of your Internet pages, you brought tons of information to a waste audience. I think your work will increase immensely the level of awareness of what is happening in our world. I just wanted to thank you for that.

    With regards,
    Martina Cvek

    Dear euronews team,

I wanted to say that this website is really great and useful for language learners. There are great vocabulary and as I’m studying English it is not only an excellent site to keep myself up to date but also to learn the language itself. What I also like about the site is that the topics are translated in many other languages so it is possible for me to compare the translations. Another positive point is that there is such a wide range of topics and it covers every field.
    Keep working like that!!!

    Dear euronews team,

First of all I would like to say thank you for a informative and well-structured website. I really enjoy reading your articles. I´m studying Translation & Interpreting so this is a great way to improve my reading and listening skills and when I don´t understand something I can find the same article in German. The best thing about this site is that you can hear the news if you don´t have enough time reading them. I started to work with this page at university but now I´m surfing it almost every day. I even recommended this page to my friend who didn´t know about it and they like it.

    Kind regards,
    Medi

    Dear euronews team,

I just wanted to leave a comment and tell you that this is really a great website providing news on the internet.

I’m from Austria, studying translation and interpreting, and so this page is really useful for me. I know that there are already eight languages here, but also the eastern part of Europe becomes more and more important and maybe you could also add texts in Slovenian, Croatian or any other Slavic language (besides Russian). Maybe I have to tell you that I am studying Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian…

I’d also like to congratulate you on your “no comments” page. This is the most unusual, but also most fascinating thing I ever found on such a website. It gives us as a reader the possibility to interpret the video on our own and to form a personal opinion. I will, for sure, recommend it to all of my friends.

    Best wishes from Austria!

As a Historian-International Relations analyst, and as a Greek citizen, I feel grief. I don’t see flames burning down shops, cars, rather I see flames being set on democracy, ideologies, progress. The protestors lose their battle when doing the above, and if peace marches were held throughout Greece, this would be more effective. The problem is that the economic, political and cultural problems within Greece are far too great and the death of Alexandros is the mere ‘spark’ to ignite this fire.

    Dear euronews team,

I was recommended your website by one of my lecturers at university and had the opportunity to take a closer look at it for the last six weeks.

Generally speaking, I have to say I really enjoy your services. You offer me the possibility to keep myself up to date with the latest news from anywhere in the world. Second, for a student of Translation and Interpreting (I work with English and Spanish), euronews is a very useful tool in order to improve one’s language skills. To name an example, one has the chance to listen to videos in a great variety of languages and compare the various translations of one and the same story. This is quite an interesting exercise which helped me to enrich my active English vocabulary.

Apart from my positive feedback, however, I would like to make the following enquiry: Since I am totally blind from birth, I need to use a screen-reading software called JAWS which enables me to work with the computer in general, navigate through websites of my interest, etc. Unfortunately, watching videos on the euronews website without the assistance of a sighted person is impossible for me because the “start” button you need to click in order to start a video is not displayed to me by JAWS. Consequently, whenever I would like to watch a video, a sighted person has to click it for me. As you can probably imagine, always being dependent on this kind of help is rather annoying, especially if you would like to listen to videos on a regular basis (meaning daily), not just every now and then, when there is a sighted person available to help. Therefore I would like to know whether it would be possible to program the website in a way that the videos start playing automatically when clicking the respective links. Alternatively, you could display the “start” button as a text rather than a graphic, or you could provide an option to download the videos available at your website.

Since I am not the only blind person having difficulties when it comes to listening to euronews videos, I can definitely assure you that many blind Internet users would benefit from this improvement.

I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,

    Annika Flaake

    Hi Annika,
This is Brian, one of the euronews.net developers.
I’d like to start by saying thanks for your feedback – valuable feedback like your own is taken very seriously by the entire development team and we try to react as quickly as possible whenever accessibility concerns are brought to our attention.
Following your suggestion, we’ve just added a hypertext link after each video that enables site visitors to play and pause the video in question. This link has been positioned off-screen but will be accessible within JAWS.
I hope this addition helps make the website more accessible to you.
    Thanks again for the feedback,
    Brian

    Dear euronews,

first of all I’d like to say that your multilingual homepage is a great idea to provide news from all over the world. Translating all articles into so many different languages helps especially language learners like me to improve their oral and writing skills.

I also like the newly introduce search option which I was missing at the beginning. Sometimes I like to recheck certain information and so such an option is quite helpful.

All in all, your homepage is a good example of making it possible for everyone to stay up-to-date with the world news and in addition to that also gain certain language knowledge. Many other news pages should take a leaf out of your book.

    Dear euronews,

I am a student of translating and I really have to say what a great job you’re doing! This site is very useful, since we are able to read/listen to the exact same articles in different languages. It is practical for learning translating. However, I somehow agree with sabine.franke about the corresponding of the spoken and the written text. They are very similar but than again not identical. When it comes to translation training it would be better to make it match, at least in the articles, where the text almost matches already (e.g. the news section).

Furthermore, since I am from Slovenia, I am especially interested in articles about new european countries. I would be thankful if there were more articles from this part of Europe in future.

Anyway, I’m grateful for this site, so keep on doing such a great job!

    Dear euronews,

I really enjoy surfing this webpage. I think it is a fabulous way to keep oneself informed and up-to-date. Since I am studying Translation and Interpreting, euronews is also very helpful in terms of improving my language skills or learning new vocabulary. As a result I appreciate that the articles are translated into so many different languages. This way I cannot only improve my English but also my skills in other foreign languages. I also like the no comment section because it expresses so much without using any words. However, since I am very much into sports, I am missing somehow a single section dedicated to sports. Nevertheless I think you are doing a great job. So keep it up!

    Dear viewer,
Thanks for the comments. We have a comprehensive sports bulletin on our television output and there are plans to expand the web content to include sports. Keep watching. Head of English Service
