Up to 30 people have been killed, and dozens more injured, by a string of bombings in the Muslim-dominated Indian city of Ahmedabad.
There were two separate series of blasts. The first explosions were all near busy market places. A second round of bombs went off about half an hour later close to a hospital, where police say at least six people died.
Yesterday, eight bombs exploded in the country’s ‘silicon valley’ town of Bangalore, killing one and wounding six others.
Several television channels said they had received an email from a group called the ‘Indian Mujahideen’ at the same time as the explosions.
