More details have emerged of US technology giant Hewlett-Packard’s plans to lay off 24,600 people over the next three years. According to a union source, quoted by the AFP news agency, 9,300 of those jobs will go in Europe. The source said 90% of those who are being let go work for EDS, the data processing firm that Hewlett Packard recently bought. It has not been revealed which European countries are effected.
