Radovan Karadzic’s legal team is doing all it can to delay his transfer to the Hague Tribunal. But once there, the Bosnian Serb wartime leader is set to conduct his own defence, apparently convinced he will be cleared of genocide.
In preparation, perhaps, the New Age doctor look has gone. Karadzic is said to have had a haircut and shaved off his beard.
Protests against his detention are continuing. Those loyal to Karadzic, including supporters of the ultra-nationalist Serbian Radical Party, have again gathered in Belgrade.
As speculation mounts that military commander Ratko Mladic could be captured next, Luka Karadzic spoke out to those who see his brother as a hero.
He told the crowd Radovan Karadzic’s arrest was the biggest sin of the 21st century.
Karadzic’s lawyer says he won’t appeal against his client’s extradition until Friday, when a legal deadline expires.
