Boeing Ongoing Boeing strike threatens 787 first flight 14/10/08 20:29 CET

A top Boeing executive has said that the first flight of its crucial 787 Dreamliner could be pushed back.

That comes after the plane maker’s renewed talks with its striking machinists broke down.

Vice President of Marketing Randy Tinseth said if this become a prolonged strike it could further delay the plane’s first flight.

Boeing plants have been closed since its 27,000 machinists walked out five weeks ago.

The dispute is over outsourcing and job security and the two sides remain far apart.
