Six dead in Russian market-place blast

At least 12 people have been killed and dozens more wounded in a powerful explosion in Russia’s north Caucasus according to regional police.

It happened at the busy central market in the city of Vladikavkaz in North Ossetia.

Fire crews have dealt with two blazing vehicles near the market entrance. The windows of surrounding buildings have been blown out.

The president of north Ossetia has gone to the scene.
