UK banks to compensate loan insurance customers Prominent Barclay’s investment banker Robert Diamond will be the bank’s next CEO, according to an official statement. Massachussetts born Diamond has been the bank’s president for five years and is already one of the world’s highest paid bankers.
His Barclays Capital unit accounted for nearly two thirds of the group’s profit in the first half of this year. He will replace John Varley at the end of March.
