Suzuki targets India for future growth

Japanese carmaker Suzuki is upping the ante in its India operation, building a fourth car plant to increase its already dominant more than 50 percent share of the market there through its majority-owned Maruti brand.

The new factory will start turning out a quarter of a million cars a year in 2013. Its third Indan plant is currently under construction, and India will this year make more than half of Suzuki’s cars worldwide.
