German sandstorm claims lives Swiss-born German TV weatherman, Joerg Kachelmann, has been released from police custody while awaiting trial for the alleged aggravated rape of an ex-girlfriend. The regional appeals court in Karlsruhe said Kachelmann was not considered to be a flight risk and that evidence against him did not warrant keeping him in pre-trial custody.
