At least 35 people have been killed in a triple suicide blast in Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore.

The three bombers struck as worshippers gathered for evening prayer at the city’s Sufi Data Darbar shrine.

At least 175 people were also injured in the attack, the second of its kind in Lahore inside a month.

Officials allege Pakistani Taliban operatives carried out the bombings but no-one has yet admitted being behind them.

The shrine is regularly visited by hundreds of observant Muslims on Thursday evenings from both Sunni and Shia Islam.

Reports say the bombers used explosives packed with ball-bearings to increase the impact of their attack.

The Tailban and Al-Qaeda have unleashed a wave of violence across Pakistan in recent months as revenge for attacks on fellow militants close to the Afghan border.

In May, a twin bomb blast at another Lahore mosque killed at least 80 people.
