David Miliband told the Iraq inquiry that the UK’s membership of the UN, EU, NATO and the Commonwealth, along with its cultural ties, gives it significant influence for country its size.
Miliband was a junior education minister at the time of the Iraq invasion in 2003 and was not involved in the decision to go to war. His appearance before the inquiry panel was consequently low-key.
