The battle for the best picture prize at this weekend’s Oscars appears to be a duel between a former husband and wife. Kathryn Bigelow directed The Hurt Locker, and James Cameron’s 3D blockbuster Avatar each have nine nominations.
Morgan Freeman, Jeff Bridges and George Clooney are among those up for the best actor award.
And Sandra Bullock is favourite to take best actress from Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Gabourey Sidibe and Carey Mulligan.
