Today the public had its first chance to get inside and drool over the cars on display in Geneva.
Organisers are saying this year’s motor show is all about economic recovery, and green technology, although there is still a fair amount of glitz and glamour on display as well.
It seems however that buyers remain cagey;

“I’m just having a look round. If I see something here I like I might buy it,or I’ll wait till I get back to Italy,” said one experienced driver.

So, as recovery is in the air, but crisis is not entirely dispelled many manufacturers are producing smaller models, but offering similar equipment and luxury levels to older, bigger versions. Even Rolls Royce has unveiled its smallest-ever car.

Many makers are putting the emphasis on family vehicles with a limited off-road capability, or beefed-up supermini versions of small cars.

Sportcar makers are trying to boost their green credentials with smaller motors, alternative fuels, or new cheaper models – even Aston Martin is bringing out a budget sportscar with reasonable fuel consumption.
