Beyoncé tops Grammy winners list

R&B singer Beyoncé has dominated this year’s Grammy awards, the Oscars of the music industry.

The 28-year-old Texan picked up six prizes including those for song of the year and best female pop vocal performance. It brings her career tally of Grammys to 16.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old country music sensation Taylor Swift picked up four awards and is the youngest ever winner of the album of the year prize, which she won for her second studio release “Fearless.”

Michael Jackson was honoured with a posthumous lifetime achievement award which was accepted by his children Paris and Prince. Celine Dion, Usher and Smokey Robinson were among the stars singing in a 3-D tribute to the late King of Pop.
