Despite the fact that the European Central Bank is lending billions of euros to commercial banks it seems that money is not getting into the real economy.
The latest figures show the euro zone money supply posted a surprise drop in November.
Banks continue to be reluctant to make loans to individuals and companies.
The amount of money loaned was down for the third month running in November.
