Ryanair quits Boeing purchase talks

Irish airline Ryanair said it has pulled out of talks to buy as many as 200 aircraft from Boeing as they cannot agree price and contract terms.

Europe’s biggest low-cost carrier said it now aims to reduce its capacity growth from 2011 and will trim investment then to cut costs .

It is also planning to return surplus cash to investors from 2012 onwards.

That news lifted Ryanair’s shares.
