Christmas cheer for German businesses

German corporate sentiment rose to its highest level in 17 months in December.

Results of the monthly survey of 7,000 firms by the Ifo economic think tank showed companies expect business to improve next year alongside a moderate recovery in Europe’s largest economy.

Ifo said: “After the dramatic economic collapse last winter, these survey results should bring some Christmas cheer.”
