Protesters keep up pressure in Copenhagen

Focus COP15

Inside, the talks at the Copenhagen summit go into their fifth day; outside, environmental activists increase the pressure for what they call a “real deal”.

One of the latest reports from the UN climate change summit focuses on a draft text proposed by the chairman of one of the main negotiating groups.

It says the world should at least halve global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It also proposes that developed countries take the lead with deep cuts by 2020 and 2050.

The Copenhagen talks will continue until December the 18th, with pressure on countries to resolve differences over who should curb their greenhouse gases and who should pay.
