Microsoft ‘near agreement with EU’

EU competition regulators are reportedly about to accept an amended offer by Microsoft over how internet browsers are chosen on personal computers using its operating systems in Europe.

That decision, which is expected as early as next week, would end the US software giant’s decade-long dispute with the European Commission. Brussels said it had broken EU competition rules. So far Microsoft has been fined nearly 1.7 billion euros.More about: , ,
