Buyers line up for Swedish car firms

General Motors is reportedly talking to Chinese car maker Beijing Automotive about selling some Saab assets including tooling and technology.

A sale would clear the way for a liquidation of other Saab assets and could threaten more than 3,000 jobs in Sweden. And it has been revealed that a mostly Swedish consortium is to make a cash bid for Volvo cars. Ford – which is selling Volvo – has China’s Geely as its preferred bidder.More about: ,
