The Iranian president has continued his defiant rhetoric despite growing international condemnation of his country’s nuclear program.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a television interview that Western efforts to isolate Iran will not work and that the nuclear question was not up for discussion. He added that plans to build ten uranium enrichment sites were “not a bluff.” Ahmadinejad went on to accuse Russia of making a mistake by joining the West in condemning the secret construction of Iran’s second enrichment plant. In the past Russia has refused to support further international sanctions. But an unnamed senior Russian diplomat has revealed that Moscow will now follow any international consensus on the matter.More about: , ,
