French group Vivendi’s great Hollywood adventure appears near its end with the news it is to sell its 20 percent share in NBC Universal to General Electric for 3.8 billion euros.

GE will now own the whole company, and be free to sign its joint venture with Comcast. It intends to buy a majority share in NBC Universal in what will be the biggest media deal of the year if it comes to market.More about: , ,
