End of the line for FIAT in Sicily?

The boss of FIAT has met with Italy’s economic development minister to announce the company will quit making cars at the Termini Imerese plant in Sicily after 2011.

FIAT intends to make something else at the factory, but Sergio Marchionne said he did not know exactly what that would be just yet. Unions fear it is the first step to closure, and the loss of 2200 auto and supplier’s jobs.More about: , ,
