France Telecom expands into the Swiss market

France Telecom are boosting their position in Switzerland, through a deal agreed with Denmark’s TDC.

The deal will mean that France Telecom has about 38 per cent of the Swiss mobile telephony market. The 1.5 billion euro buy-out is part of a trend for European telecoms operators to cut costs and improve profits. France Telecom are hoping to take on local leader, Swisscom.More about: , , ,
