Werner Herzog directs Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

The film is a remake of the Harvey Keitel outing in 1992 – and has little to do with the original. Male audiences are bound to love this cocktail of sex n guns and shoot-em-up in both senses of the phrase. In fact, the film features so much drug use that the director has been at pains in press conferences to stress that he himself has never taken drugs because he doesn’t like drug culture. Whatever. To date, the film doesn’t have a UK release date. Perhaps it’s a matter of waiting for US reactions…?
