With only a few hours to go, there is still confusion as to who will scoop the European Union’s two top jobs.

Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy is a favourite for president. The confusion continues for position of foreign affairs chief with many strong contenders. The heads of the 27 member nations will meet at a special summit tonight to decide. Mr Van Rompuy has been described as a pragmatic rather than charismatic figure. France and Germany’s support mean he has a good chance of winning. Meanwhile, with only one female candidate for presidency, rallys in Brussels have been taking place fighting for more women in top EU jobs.
