Police have confirmed a second lithograph by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch was stolen earlier this year.

The news that The Breaking Away’ is now on an international list of stolen art, follows last week’s disappearance of another Munch work, ‘The History’. Police say ‘The Breaking Away’ disappeared in June, when the gallery in Oslo, where it was being held, moved to a new location. In 2004, two major pieces by Munch, who is considered a precursor to Expressionism, were also taken. ‘The Madonna’ and ‘The Scream’, worth more than 65 million euros between them, were pinched in broad daylight from Oslo’s Munch museum.More about: , ,
