Japan’s Canon plans to buy Dutch copier and printer maker Oce for 730 million euros.

Canon, Oce and rivals, such as Ricoh and Xerox, have suffered during the economic slump, as companies cut spending, including costs on copying and printing. Oce, made a loss in the past two quarters and has been cutting costs and jobs while Canon reported a sharp fall in quarterly profit last month.More about: Japan, Technology
