Seven dead in Indian train crash

world news

A least seven people have been killed and dozens injured in a train crash in India.

All fifteen coaches of the New Delhi-bound Mandor Express derailed near the western city of Jaipur early on Saturday. Rescue teams are still reportedly working to free passengers trapped in the overturned carriages. India’s state run railway network ferries more than 18 million passengers daily. However, the system has a poor safety record and is plagued by overcrowding and outdated technology. Only last month, more than 20 people were killed and 17 injured when an express train ploughed into the back of another passenger train in northern India.More about: , ,
