Iberia passengers hit by new strike

world news

Thousands of airline passengers in Spain face more disruption and delays, as Iberia cabin crew stage another two-day strike. More than 370 flights are expected to be cancelled over the next 48 hours, affecting 40,000 passengers, as strikers continue their campaign for better pay and working conditions at the Spanish carrier.

Staff first downed tools two weeks ago, causing chaos for hundreds of domestic and international flights. Similar disruption is expected today and tomorrow. The unions say Iberia has failed to address their grievances, while the airline has started disciplinary action against the unions for failing to provide at least a basic level of cover during the walkouts.More about: , ,
