“I was studying politics in West Berlin. That night we went out thinking nothing was going to happen, we were dancing in a nightclub, suddenly the DJ said the wall has fallen.

Within 15 minutes the club was empty.

We made our way to the Brandenburg Gate but there were too many people, so we headed to Checkpoint Charlie.

We waited for the people to come over the border, one person fell into my arms and cried. We then drank champagne.

I cried too.

It went on till 8 in the morning

It was one of the most moving moments of my life.”
