Czech decision on Lisbon Treaty on November 3

The Czech Constitutional Court is expected to give its ruling on a complaint about the Lisbon Treaty on November 3. There had been speculation the verdict might come today, but officials have now said that will not happen.

The Czech President Vaclav Klaus has said he won’t sign the Treaty until the Court makes its decision. His country is the only EU state to yet to ratify it. It cannot come into effect until Klaus signs. The complaint has been filed by a group of conservative senators who claim the Treaty is against the Czech constitution.More about: ,
