A train crash in Egypt has killed at least 25 people and injured dozens more.
Security sources say a packed passenger train slammed into a stationary train on the same track. It is thought that train had stopped after hitting a cow. The collision happened south of Cairo at al-Ayyat – the scene of Egypt’s worst ever rail disaster, seven years ago, when some 360 people died. A series of rail and road accidents in Egypt in recent years has triggered an outcry over the government’s handling of transport safety.
