A new opinion poll in Denmark says eighty percent of people think the biker gang wars with immigrants in Copenhagen are now out of the police’s control.

In the latest outbreak of violence one of the capital’s smartest districts echoed to the sound of shooting when the occupants of a car sprayed a restaurant with gunfire. In the last 14 months there have been 108 shootings, six deaths and 40 people jailed as bikers and immigrants struggle for the drugs trade and territory. Revenge and honour also drive the conflict. It has got so bad that on Tuesday night the Prime Minister decided to intervene: “I don’t know who the biker is and usually I don’t consult this sort of person. They say they represent values, but none I recognise, and not values shared by the Danish people, either.” Brian Sandberg, a Hell’s Angels leader, survived the restaurant attack but one of his bodyguards was injured. An Angels spokesman insisted his group was making a stand for Danish culture, and after 60 years of being shot at, they were used to it.More about: Denmark
