Halloween would not be halloween without any tricks or treats but a row over one particular costume is threatening to overshadowed the event in the United States.
There is always some controversy involved as it is the only time when some people can poke fun at popular or hate figures.
But this year, this costume of a space creature in orange prison garb is reigniting a debate over the government’s designation of all foreigners as aliens.
Some immigrant groups have urged for retailers to pull the costume but groups which support strict immigration laws say such a move would break freedom of speech laws.
Nevertheless, many high street vendors have pulled the costume amid complaints that it perpetuates an idea of foreigners as criminals or at best scary strangers.
