Hurricane Rick showed signs of weakening overnight as it roared over the Pacific off the west coast of Mexico.

Forecasters say that Rick has been downgraded to a category four storm. The US National Hurricane Centre say the winds are running at around 230 kilometres per hour and that they are expected to reduce further over the next 48 hours. However, warnings have been issued to the resorts of Baja California and the mainland of western Mexico. The storm is still being described as “extremely dangerous.” Forecast models suggest that Rick should strike land on Wednesday.More about: , ,
