Wilders sees visit as victory for freedom of speech

Dutch MP Geert Wilders has arrived in Britain and described his visit to the country as a victory for free speech.

Wilders, whose film “Fitna,” linked the Koran to violence, was refused entry into the country in February amid fears he presence would incite “inter faith violence”.

The ban has since been overturned by the UK immigration tribunal.

“I think being here today in the United Kingdom is a victory. It’s not so much a victory for myself, I’m not that important, but it’s a victory for the freedom of speech. I have a problem with the Islamic ideology, the Islamic culture, because I believe that the more Islam we get in our free societies, the less freedom we will get, “ he said.

Wilders, who is due to stand trial in the Netherlands for inciting hatred was invited to Britain by the UK independence party.

A number of Muslim protesters gathered to voice their objection to his presence in London.
