Sony Ericsson losses not as bad as feared

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has posted a smaller than expected quarterly loss thanks to big cost cuts.

But the joint venture between Sweden’s Ericsson and Japan’s Sony expects the handset market to remain tough for the rest of the year. Sony Ericsson’s quarterly pretax loss was just short of 200 million euros, better than its 283 million euro loss in the second quarter.More about: ,
