The Russian government is increasing pressure on Renault to help debt-laden carmaker AvtoVAZ.
The French company has a 25 percent stake in AvtoVAZ, which a government report recently said is almost bankrupt and needs to cut almost half its 102,000 workers to survive.
Moscow would like to see Renault invest more or give AvtoVAZ additional technical help.
