Cheaper energy and food pulled down euro zone consumer prices by 0.3 percent in September compared with the same month last year.
Inflation was unchanged in September from August the European Union statistics office said, confirming its estimate made two weeks ago.
But economists said there could be a rebound this month as energy-related effects become less of a factor.
