Britain and the United States have warned Iran that the world will not wait for it to meet its international obligations.

Speaking after talks in London with her British counterpart David Miliband, the US Secretary of State said Tehran would never have a better opportunity to establish normal ties with the rest of the world. “Words are not enough. And we are speaking with a single voice and delivering a clear message to Iran – the international community will not wait indefinitely for evidence that Iran is prepared to live up to its international obligations,” said Hillary Clinton. Six world powers met with Iran in Geneva earlier this month to press for details on its nuclear programme. Iran agreed to allow UN nuclear watchdog inspectors to visit a previously undisclosed facility. Iran also agreed to send most of its uranium stockpile to Russia and France for processing. The exact conditions will be thrashed out at talks in Vienna later this month. But Tehran has raised fresh concerns by issuing its own warning that it now has the technology to enrich uranium to provide nuclear fuel for a research reactor if no deal is reached with world powers.More about: Hillary Clinton, Iran, Nuclear desarmement, Nuclear weapons
