Obama wins Nobel peace prize

In a surpise move the Nobel Peace Prize Committee has announced this year’s award has gone to US President Barack Obama.

Obama had not been considered among the favourites, though it was widely acknowledged to be a very open field. On his first day in office President Obama promised to reach out to US enemies and work to promote world peace. But with many of his stated foreign policy aims still to be achieved some may feel this award has come a little too early.More about: , ,
