Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel has grabbed pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix after a crash-strewn Suzuka qualifying session.

Four collasions heavily interrupted a dramatic session with two of them heavy-impact accidents at high speed. Toyota’s Timo Glock was airlifted to hospital with what has been diagnosed as an “abrasion to the left upper leg”. There have been calls for Suzuka to increase the size of its run-off areas. Campionship leader and Englishman Jenson Button is in seventh position and now faces a fight to clinch the title in Sunday’s race.More about: , ,
