19 Hamas women prisoners have been released by Israel. Another is scheduled to be freed on Sunday.
A videotape of an Israeli soldier,at the center of the prisoner swap deal between Israel and Hamas has been received by Israel. It provides proof that a 23-year old Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, captured by Hamas in 2006 is alive and well. After viewing the video Shalit’s family gave the green light for the freed Palestinian prisoners to return to Gaza. Hamas is negotiating for the release of hundreds of its members in exchange for Shalit.
