The British Museum has opened its doors on a major exhibition re-examining the legacy of the last Aztec emperor, Moctezuma. Elected ruler in 1502, his empire stretched from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean, until just after the Spanish arrived in 1519. The exhibition brings together artefacts from Mexico, the British Museum, and other international collections.
