Iran has told the U.N nuclear watchdog that it is building a second uranium enrichment plant – a disclosure that is heightening western fears of an Iranian bid for an atom bomb.

The statement comes just two days after the Russian President met the US President and urged the world to offer Iran incentives to resolve the nuclear issue otherwise Russia said it would consider imposing serious additional sanctions. Out of all the Iranian nuclear plants, it was previously thought that only one was an enrichment plant at Natanz. This plant is under daily surveillance by UN non-proliferation inspectors and Iran remains under UN sanctions for refusing to suspend its nuclear enrichment programme.More about: , ,
