The agonising wait for information goes on for relatives of the victims of the Air France crash three months ago.

After their first meeting with the judge leading the judicial inquiry into the disaster they have been told it could take years to unravel the mystery. Some voiced their anger after the meeting in Paris. One woman said: “Nobody says anything. And now they tell us it’ll drag on for years. We don’t want to live in this situation for years.” A lawyer representing the families said: “The people who’ve come here, many of them, from far away, don’t want expressions of compassion or explanations of working methods from the police and justice officials. They want extremely precise responses to the precise questions they’ve posed, to know what happened, when and how.” Only some 50 bodies have been recovered from the area of the Atlantic where the plane went down 1,500 kilometres of the Brazilian coast. 228 people were on board the Airbus A330 that was en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.More about: Air France, Plane crash
