Irish voters are preparing to cast a ballot in a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty on October 2. The future of how the European Union is run is at stake. Although bookmakers strongly favour a ‘yes’ vote, they have been wrong before — like last year when the first referendum result was ‘no’.
