Cadbury may be moving closer to accepting a bid from US food giant Kraft if the price were increased.
Cadbury’s chief executive Todd Stitzer has conceded there is “some strategic sense” in a merger and has reportedly the British firm has asked the UK Takeover Panel to tell Kraft to put up or shut up.
There has been speculation that US chocolate maker Hershey may join Kraft in funding the bid, they would then split Cadbury’s assets between them.
