American Airlines reportedly wants to team up with British Airways and Qantas Airways to make a joint alliance offer to struggling Japan Airlines. That would include an big investment by American Airlines and possibly BA and the Australians.
The idea is to block a rival investment offer from Delta Air Lines .. and so keep JAL in the OneWorld airline alliance. Delta is part of the rival SkyTeam alliance.
